In Abrahamic religions, a messiah or messias (Hebrew: מָשִׁיחַ: Māšīaḥ; Greek: μεσσίας, messías; Arabic: مسيح, masîḥ; lit. 'the anointed one') is a saviour or liberator of a group of people.
